FAQs

Do I need my own eqipment?
Currently I am able to provide one learner skateboard during sessions. You will need to bring your own helmet and pads with you. If you are just one adult I can lend you my own helmet and pads.

What happens if it's raining?
Lessons can only run when the weather allows for safe enough conditions. Rain and damp can be dangerous to skate in, as well as damaging to equipment. If lessons are cancelled due to the weather, we can reschedule or organise a refund depending on your preference. I will do my best to give sufficient notice.

How quickly will I learn?
I won't lie, skateboarding takes patience. Getting comfortable on your board is something you never stop getting better at, but there are some techniques that you can use to accelerate your progress. Repetition and practicing in your own time is key.

What should I expect from each lesson?
It is my role to cater each lesson to you and your learning style. No two people look the same when skateboarding and we all develop our own unique style - that's what makes it interesting. We all learn differently at our own pace, with varied strengths in different areas. Together we will learn what path you'll take, and I will do my best to guide you in the most effective direction. Each lesson we'll usually work on a new skill or trick of choice, while also keeping up with a foundational skills that keep us safe and confident while riding.

At what age can you start skateboarding?
It's never too early and never too late. As long as you're willing to take things at a safe pace and listen to your body, you can start at any age.
If you're a parent, I'd recommend that your child be at least be old enough to attend school as this is a safe and productive age to start learning.
Children under 18 are required to wear a helmet and pads when participating in the lessons.
